Shape Your Future

OTA HUB

11 November 2024

The Shape Your Future program is designed to address the lack of digital skills among Nigerian youths, as highlighted by UNICEF and GetBundi. With only 7% of Nigerian youths having the necessary ICT skills, and over 100 million young Nigerians lacking digital abilities, the program aims to prepare teenagers for the demands of a digital and AI-driven future. This six-week initiative focuses on equipping teenagers from low-income communities with essential skills in Data Analytics, Design Thinking, Fundamentals of Design, and Digital Marketing, enhancing their digital literacy and creativity. Targeting 50 students from JSS 3, SS 1, and SS 2 per school, the goal is to train over 2,000 teenagers, building on the 120 already reached. Volunteers are assigned to schools to conduct 1-2 hour weekly sessions. The program aims to empower these teenagers with job-ready skills for future success.

The Cancer Project

OTA HUB

10 November 2024

The Cancer Project aims to address cancer awareness and support in the community through multiple initiatives. The first initiative, Sensitization, involves creating awareness both physically, through community-level engagement, and virtually, via social media campaigns with Vox Pop, short videos, memes, and e-fliers. The goal is to increase awareness of cancer and its effects, involving volunteers and healthcare workers. The Cancer Support Program creates a community where cancer patients can encourage one another. It plans to run health checks for 250 women quarterly, providing a support network for those affected. Medication Support focuses on fundraising to provide low-cost or free medications for women diagnosed with cancer. Similarly, Treatment Support seeks to raise funds to support cancer treatment for patients in need. The project’s approach emphasizes building a network of volunteers and healthcare professionals to drive awareness and support efforts. With a combination of sensitization, support programs, and fundraising, the project aims to provide holistic assistance to cancer patients in the community.
